I only do the 7w viability scan and the anatomy scan so I truly only see her once (since she was a blurb last time) and so I went into this appointment super excited to see her {of course, if there was a medical need, I would do any additional scan at the end of pregnancy but it’s not the plan as of now}.
I understand there’s also some anxieties that can come with this appointment to find out all is ok, but I don’t know why I always head into the anatomy scan so calm and excited more than stressed and extremely anxious like I do with the 7w one or while I wait for the NIPT results.
My midwife, like any OBGYN, sends you to an external specialist for this scan, and in each pregnancy I’ve gone to a different specialist. Well this one was by far THE best experience I’ve had out of the three! If you need a referral, please let me know.The tech found all measurements and organs in 20min (and everything was perfect). Baby girl was collaborating and moving and showed off everything so easily.
We got the most clear photos of all body parts as well as got to see her face so perfectly (& they turned on the 3D scan to see her for like a minute but we got the most incredible photos) and OMG it was like a dejavú because she looks just like Sofia and B at their anatomy scan & she has the same exact profile as Beckham 🥹 (although we never saw them THIS clearly).
I cannot stress enough how, even it being my third, it’s such a surreal feeling knowing that girl we see on the screen and pictures is actually in my belly and my daughter 😭 such a miracle to be going through this once in a lifetime experience and soaking it all in despite the aches and pains that come with it because I know how special it is.
