How A Male Partner Can Prepare For Conception

Preparing for a baby is a team effort and 50% of embryo quality, depends on the sperm!Having good sperm quantity and quality will help fasten conception as well as help proper embryo development, a successful implantation, and lower the chances of miscarriage.

Yup, recent studies have shown that presence of DNA damage in sperm can more than double the risk of miscarriage.Sperm are living cells within the male body that are subject to whatever conditions the rest of the body is exposed to through their development.

And the life cycle of sperm is about 74 days, which means that men CAN implement lifestyle changes to improve their quality & quantity, and all lifestyle changes should be applied 3 months prior to starting the TTC stage, and maintained throughout conception.

EASY LIFESTYLE CHANGES TO IMPLEMENT?

  • Nutrient dense diet

  • Exercising regularly and moderately, a healthy weight

  • Avoiding tobacco & marijuana use

  • Avoiding or lowering consumption of alcohol and caffeine

  • Completely avoiding hot tubs, saunas and Jacuzzis (heat exposure)

  • Not carrying phones in front pockets or laying laptops on laps (direct radiation exposure)

  • Avoiding vaping (chemical exposure)

It’s not all up to us mamas.
